The World Congress on Probation has opened a call for papers.
During the conference a series of presentations will take place with the aim of exploring the range of innovative and promising initiatives in probation around the world. Presentations will take place either in plenary session in the main conference hall, or in workshops to be held in three parallel sessions.
The themes of the conference are:
• International perspectives on community justice
• Diversion (at any stage of the justice process)
• Restorative justice
• Effective community interventions
• Alternatives to custody
• Resettlement of prisoners in the community

The theme of this year's conference is based on the Restorative Practices Foundation's new learning network website, Restorative Works.
Plenary session presentations will range from restorative justice settings to whole-school change, from school-based restorative zones to restorative practices in faith-based organizations.
Breakout sessions will provide an international perspective on restorative practices theory and practice in a variety of settings, including education, social welfare, criminal justice, community development and workplaces. Restorative practitioners from around the world will share their knowledge and achievements and find encouragement, support and advice.
